Governance

Resurrection Catholic School is owned by Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South, Inc., which is sponsored by the Congregation of the Resurrection, United States Province headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

The school freely chooses to affiliate with the Archdiocese of Mobile and its Office of Catholic Schools. Like all Catholic institutions in the Archdiocese, we respect and conform to the authority of the Archbishop of Mobile. The school is directly governed by the Pastor/Director, his associate director, the local Advisory Board of Directors and the provincial Superior and Council of the United States Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection. In both civil and canon (church) law Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South and the school are distinct legal entities.

Requirements for Enrollment


Based on God-given individual worth, everyone applying deserves serious consideration as a potential recipient of the school’s best efforts toward a holistic, Christian education. Out of a sense of justice, admissions personnel must strive to select students who have the ability to complete the program successfully.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

2 1/2 – 3 year old - CLASS I (child must be toilet trained and wearing underwear- no pull-ups)

4 – 5 year old – CLASS II

A current certificate of immunization, an original copy of the birth certificate, and a social security card are required.

KINDERGARTEN – 8th Grade

A student must be five (5) years of age on or before September 10th to be enrolled in Kindergarten. A current certificate of immunization, an original copy of the birth certificate, and a social security card are required.

A student must be six (6) years of age on or before September 10th to be enrolled in the first grade. A current blue certificate of immunization, a birth certificate, and a social security card are required. Kindergarten and grade 6 should have a second Measles Immunization Certificate

Factors Considered for Enrollment

  • The individual’s overall academic and conduct record must be provided. Records of testing and/or placement in any special program must be submitted.
  • There will be an interview with each applicant and his/her parents.
  • A placement test of basic skills may be administered.
  • Discipline record from applicant’s prior school must be submitted.
  • All records must be received prior to admission. Any student who has not met the academic and disciplinary requirements of his/her former school, or who in the view of Resurrection Catholic School administration has a history of suspensions or serious behavior problems will not be admitted to Resurrection Catholic School.

  • Resurrection Catholic School requires each student have a publicity consent form signed by parent/guardian on file with the school.
