Governance

Resurrection Catholic School is owned by Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South, Inc., which is sponsored by the Congregation of the Resurrection, United States Province headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

The school freely chooses to affiliate with the Archdiocese of Mobile and its Office of Catholic Schools. Like all Catholic institutions in the Archdiocese, we respect and conform to the authority of the Archbishop of Mobile. The school is directly governed by the Pastor/Director, his associate director, the local Advisory Board of Directors and the provincial Superior and Council of the United States Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection. In both civil and canon (church) law Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South and the school are distinct legal entities.

Religous Celebrations

Students of every faith tradition are welcome to attend Resurrection Catholic School.  Each student is inspired to develop a personal relationship with God.  This relationship becomes the firm foundation to enable them to be a faithful witness in their personal faith denomination.

Students are afforded an opportunity to learn the connection between faith and real life action through the teachings of the Catholic Christian faith tradition.  Parents of faith traditions other than Catholic are required to attend sessions entitled, “View Your Child’s World.”  These sessions explain the Catholic teachings shared with students who are from other faith traditions.   This allows parents to share the richness of the common beliefs and strengthen the knowledge of their own faith journey while developing an appreciation for the differences in faith traditions.  As students learn to respect one another without distinction the Kingdom of God becomes a reality for the community.

Student from all faith traditions participate in:

  • Daily Devotions
  • *Weekly mass
  • *Celebrations for the sacraments
  • *Religion classes
