Governance

Resurrection Catholic School is owned by Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South, Inc., which is sponsored by the Congregation of the Resurrection, United States Province headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

The school freely chooses to affiliate with the Archdiocese of Mobile and its Office of Catholic Schools. Like all Catholic institutions in the Archdiocese, we respect and conform to the authority of the Archbishop of Mobile. The school is directly governed by the Pastor/Director, his associate director, the local Advisory Board of Directors and the provincial Superior and Council of the United States Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection. In both civil and canon (church) law Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South and the school are distinct legal entities.

Family Participation

Parents are recognized as the primary educators.  The power of parental presence in the school community is profoundly understood.  As a result parents are encouraged to volunteer and participate in all family activities.  The students are proud to share their school experiences with every guest that visits the school

Parent Teacher Orginzation (PTO)

The Resurrection PTO holds periodic meetings. Parents will be notified. Its purpose is to create a mutual understanding between home and school and to support the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of the child. The PTO sponsors fund-raising activities each year, and all families will be asked to participate.

Parental Involvement

It is the intention of the school to keep in close contact with parents/guardians and students. Please feel free to visit your child’s class at anytime. We insist that you report to the office and sign the Visitor’s Book first. You will be given a pass that should be visible as long as you remain on campus. This is not the time to have a conference with your child or child’s teacher. Please enter the classroom, be seated, and observe your child in his/her learning environment.
